Terms/Returns/Christmas Returns

Every item shown on our website should be in stock and available for immediate shipping. However we cannot totally exclude the possibility that a particular product is no longer available, if there is a sudden run on demand. Since many of our items are sourced from smaller suppliers often outside the United Kingdom, it can be difficult to repurchase unavailable items quickly. Should an item that you wish to purchase no longer be in stock or if there will be a delay before despatch, you will be contacted immediately. For the reason above, it is important for the purchaser to understand that a request to purchase a product is legally an offer to buy, and the contract of sale is not concluded until we have sent an email confirming the order’s acceptance and that the items purchased will be despatched.

Product Quality

We take great care to describe our products correctly and to show photographs with good colour quality. However as our goods are largely made from natural materials, some slight variations may occur, particularly in colour. If you believe that the website picture or description was inaccurate and you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact us immediately either on our website or at our Customer Services address, both of which are given below.

Despatch

When your offer to purchase a product has been accepted, you will receive an email confirming the date on which it will be mailed to you. Normally this will be within a maximum of one working day from receipt of your order, though this period may be extended over bank holiday and Christmas periods. Orders placed by telephone will receive a response and confirmation by telephone. All items will be insured against damage or loss during posting.

Data Protection

Violet Hill Limited comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act of 1984 and the new act of 1998 and as such are registered with the Data Protection Commissioner. We do not disclose details of our customers to any third party.

Returns

If you are dissatisfied with any item and wish to return it, you must let us know within seven days of its receipt.  The product must be returned undamaged in its original packaging using the return address label sent to you and proof of posting should always be obtained. Where the return is because the goods were damaged, we will where possible supply a replacement. Otherwise on receipt of the returned item and our confirmation that the return has met the conditions in this paragraph, we will refund the purchase money in the manner in which we received it. We regret, however, that under normal hygiene rules we cannot accept return of earrings.

Any items returned after fourteen days of receipt will ONLY be eligible for a replacement or store credit, unless item is deemed as faulty or damaged.

Items Lost in Post

If an item goes missing whist in the post or a customer has highlighted to us that an order of theirs has not been received, outside the estimated time for arrival, a refund/exchange will only be given if the Royal Mail accepts the status of the parcel as missing. An investigation by the Royal Mail will then take place which can take up to 30 days.

To help you with your Christmas present shopping, items bought from 1st December to 24th December 2015 can be returned up to Friday 8th January 2016.

We ask that we are notified at the time of the original order that the item is for a gift. After the gift has been received, you can return any item* to us for an exchange or refund as long as it is unused, returned in the original packaging, with its original tags and in a re-saleable condition. We require notification by January 3rd 2016 of the return/exchange of the item, to claim a refund/exchange.
